Yamaha Teams Up with Abarth for Special Limited Edition XSR900

Yamaha has a very strong relationship with Abarth and both the brands have a great collaboration in the past. Yamaha has revealed XSR900 Abarth which is the latest addition to its wide sports heritage range. To release the limited edition of 2017 Yamaha XSR900, it has teamed up with legendary Fiat tuner Abarth. Yamaha’s collaboration with Abarth have added a sportier tone to the classic styled motorcycle and as the name suggests the new Yamaha XSR900 serves as the basis to the custom model. The XSR900 Abarth evokes the same feel and look of the 60s cafe racers based on the standard XSR 900. Being a Japanese manufacturer Yamaha has fully taken up the growing customization movement to a new level and over years have offered a wide range of unique specials.

Taking into account of some classic design elements from Yamaha from the past 60 years, such new models gives an opportunity to the riders to own a motorcycle which offers a class leading technology and performance. They offer a unique blend of the iconic style and cutting edge technology to pay and live up to the standards of the past classics. The front cowl design of Abarth have a great contrast and looks amazing with the high-tech carbon structure. The high quality specification of the bike is underlined by the stylish suede solo seat. The performance of the bike is enhanced by the slip-on mufflers that gives a gutsier sound, exclusive looks together with stronger acceleration.

The new edition is bundled with many features such as Akrapovic exhaust system with titanium slip-on, low-slung handlebar, rear seat cowling and a carbon nose cowling is added in order to give the XSR the Abarth treatment. To give the machine an exclusive look there is red stitching on the leather seat, Abarth logos and gray paint job with red speed blocks. There is Crossplane 3 engine and three-cylinder that produces 115 hp as a starting point. The XSR900 Abarth has a slipper clutch, traction control and ABS.

One of the key feature of this new heritage model is the authentic riding position for the riders that enhances the experience and accentuates the comfort of the bike. These iconic looks are inspired by 'rockers' from 1960s who wanted to build the fastest and coolest motorcycle on the block. The front fender and seat cowl are made from the carbon fibre that makes the bike lightweight. There is an an integrated lightweight license plate holder and integrated taillight fitted to match it to the new sports seat. To help the owners to personalize the bike as per their requirements there are wide variety of accessories available for the XSR900 Abarth.

The price of the bike is not yet revealed but we can expect more information regarding it from the NEC bike show later this month. There are only NEC 695 of the Abarth edition made by Yamaha and to clarify the authenticity, each unit will have a numbered aluminium plate. On the basis of first come and first served, first 95 customers will have the advantage to register online and will also be invited exclusive VIP Abarth experience.
