Italian bike maker Ducati has finally revealed to the world the first of its new models for 2017, the Ducati SuperSport. The new superbike will be made available to motorcycle enthusiasts at this year’s World Ducati Week.
Powering the new Ducati SuperSport will be the Ducati Testastretta 937cc engine that delivers 113 horsepower and is fuelled by a 4.2-gallon fuel tank designed for medium distances rides.
The engine still the same to the Hypermotard, however, changes in the intake and exhaust system have moved the power lower in the rev range while longer drive ratios have also been added to the new bike. Ducati claims that the new bike can make 80 percent of its 71.3 ft-lb of torque at just 3000 rpm.
Interestingly, the bike borrows heavily from the Panigale, the sporting credentials have been upheld with geometry, giving the bike with same agile handling and more relaxed seating posture. On top of that, the bike also offers three riding modes, which include Sport, Touring, and Urban.
Some of the major highlights include a newly-designed front fairing, a sculpted 16-litre fuel tank that is made from steel, an exposed Trellis frame, and headlamps with Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).
The features don’t stop there! The new bike also comes with the latest Ducati Safety Pack technology, which features ABS, traction control, and variable fuel modes. The bike’s display also provides all information need, which includes the engine, fuel consumption and advanced settings such as the ABS and DTC.
In addition to the standard SuperSport model, Ducati also offers a sportier model, the SuperSport S. The model comes with a fully adjustable version of Ohlins suspension. It also the first Ducati model since the Panigale to come with a bidirectional quick shifter.
Both versions of the Ducati SuperSport, the standard SuperSport, and SuperSport S, will be revealed in March 2017.
