Continuing its legacy of capturing the imagination of the motorcycle media, Italian motorcycle company Ducati is revealing its latest addition to its Scrambler line, dubbed the Ducati Desert Sled and the Ducati Cafe Racer.
Earlier this week Ducati released a teaser video of a new variant of the Scrambler, called the Desert Sled, which should be coming with a long travel suspension and bigger engine.
Unfortunately, Ducati’s 14-second teaser video doesn’t provide enough information about the upcoming models. But the video provides some good hint that the new model will be an off-road focused version of the Scrambler line. The teaser video, which has been tagline “it belongs to the deserts of California”, ends with a long shot of a rider riding the new bike.
Right now, it’s too hard to speculate whether the new model will have a new look and features. But according to earlier reports, the new model will feature a metal mesh cover and different color schemes compared to other Scrambler variants
While no technical details will be announced until the big Ducati event, it’s expected to share the same level of performance and mechanical specifications with the standard Ducati Scrambler. So expect the new model to be powered by 803cc L-Twin, Desmodromic distribution air-cooled petrol engine that can produce 75 bhp of power and 68 Nm of torque.
In addition to the Desert Sled, Ducati also confirms the introduction of the second variant of the Scrambler for next year, called the Ducati’s Scrambler Café Racer.
Both models, the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled and Ducati Cafe Racer, will be officially presented to the public during the Ducati World Premiere 2017 event at EICMA 2016 in Milan on November 7.
Until Ducati pulls back the curtain in the big Ducati event, people can only see the most detailed guesswork about the new Scrambler models.
