There is always a yearning for advancement as we progress technologically. This kind of thinking always inspires the engineers and designers persevere their imagination to reality. This led designer/CTO Edward Jacobs and CEO Francois-Xavier Terny to develop FXE Industries’ radical Vanguard brand. Vanguard is one of the American motorcycle manufacturers that has unveiled their first bike - the Vanguard Roadster. Vanguard will offer three different models to the bike enthusiasts but for now, it has unveiled the Roadster which is bundled with many great features and has 1917cc v-twin engine from S&S. It also includes Metzeler tires, Brembo brakes, and Ohlins suspension and the bike is in the prototype stage.
Vanguard can be considered as a product that has the potential to bring a new approach to the motorcycle industry. There are many of the elements in this bike that exhibit flawless execution and stunning creativity. It has a unique look and also realistic features such as digital dashboard with a rear-view camera, unitized crankcase, frameless structural engine and an integrated exhaust. The Roadster will cover all riding positions: Racer, Roadster, and Cruiser. There are also tiny LED lights which are a substitute for a traditional headlight.
From the perspective of the design, there is so much to admire about the Vanguard Roadster. The full-metal body and the carbon fiber fuel tank of the bike makes an intriguing image of the Roadster among the riders. It showcases simplicity combined with modern engineering and efforts. It allows you to see most of the mechanical parts because of the plexiglass viewport and has an enclosed exhaust. The single-sided swingarm is visible through another viewport as it is controlled by an Ohlins shock.
The Roadster has a sleek textured seat, a long carbon fiber tank and an upright riding position. It has clip-on style handlebars with 48mm inverted forks in black. The rear tire comes with an option of 240/40 or 200/50 18-inch Metzeler while the front tire has a 130/60 18-inch Metzeler ME880 Marathon. It has a Brembo 4-piston calipers and the braking is handled by 320mm semi-floating discs. There is a Brembo 2-piston caliper with 245mm disc at the back.
Vanguard says it will be priced at US$ 29,995 and the production model will be available from 2018.
